Adtec licenses RPSystems’ Fathom software
Nashville, Tenn.—Adtec Digital recently licensed Fathom, a cross-platform, graphical control interface developed by RPSystems for Adtec’s hardware-based MPEG 2 playback devices.

“Adtec is pleased to work with RPSystems and their new Fathom software,” Adtec Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ron Johnson, said. “Because the Fathom software allows us to make our equipment compatible with Mac OSX platforms, it opens new markets for us.”

Fathom has been fully tested on Adtec’s Soloist 2 and edje MPEG players with desirable results.

“While Fathom’s plug-in architecture is designed to eventually support various brands of hardware, we chose to kick Fathom off by supporting the Adtec Digital equipment first because the hardware is very successful in our installations,” RPSystems President, Troy Rollins, said. “Adtec’s MPEG players are more powerful and robust than DVD players or PC-based systems and offer a broader range of capabilities.”

Fathom provides users of Adtec players a highly-visual software environment, allowing user-friendly control of the system. New users will appreciate Fathom’s straightforward ability to complete basic tasks like setup, playlist editing and media transfer in a single window interface, while advanced users will enjoy features like Real-Time monitoring, diagnostics and command-line functionality.
